WiFi at the Village Hall

In February this year the National Lottery and the Department for Arts, Culture and Sport gave us £2,223 to install WiFi at the Village Hall, pay for the line rental for 24 months, and buy some tablets for villagers to use and learn on.

We have been advised throughout by villager Darren Wray and our funding bid was completed by Committee members. Once we obtained the required equipment Darren and another villager Tristan Tomlinson kindly installed the Wi-Fi at the Village Hall.

We now have good reception both in the Village Hall and the garden area and you can even sit in your car in the car park and log-on. Use the Guest WiFi when logging in, no password required.

We have plans for support to villagers in how to use their tablets, cleaning them or any old ones, uploading new software, and preparing some of the old ones to be re-used.

The Village Hall also owns two mini-iPads for training purposes, or for people to use when at the Village Hall e.g. at CafeOx, the Parish Council meetings or other events.
